Women's History Month: Welcome

This guide provides a starting point to learn about Women's History Month which is celebrated annually during the month of March. Why do we have a guide to women's history? Women's contributions and accomplishments have largely been overlooked and consequently omitted from mainstream culture. This guide is intended as a non-exhaustive resource on contemporary and historic women and their works, accomplishments, and histories. In it, we strive to recognize the intersectional nature of identity and hope to highlight voices and stories across a wide range of lived experiences.

The National Women's History Alliance designates a yearly theme for Women's History Month. The 2024 theme is "Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion."
