Black History Month: Books Available at Shepherd University

Welcome to the Black History Month Resource Guide: In honor of February being Black History Month, we are highlighting a number of African American resources that are available through Scarborough Library, in addition to a variety of web resources.

Our Collection

The Scarborough Library has a broad range of materials by and about African Americans. Materials on African American history aren't located in one single section of the Library; resources are found across the collection, in history, art, literature, music, and film. This is a small selection of titles available through the Scarborough Library in both print and digital formats.

Recommended Reading Lists

Check out these book lists created for African American History Month. If you find something on the lists you would like to read, but the Library doesn't have, let us know. We'll be happy to attempt to locate it for you.
