Updates for Library use during the Corona Pandemic

Library staff are committed to providing excellent services even during the current public health challenges.

  • Due to Covid-19 transmission concerns; Scarborough Library is currently CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC but we are continuing to review the situation and are working on ways to safely restart our services while following the latest government advice. This page is designed to let our customers know what services are available right now and which services remain closed. We will continue to provide updates here and across our social media pages.
  • Research Services are online.  Staff are just a phone call away and are available during regular business hours (M-F 8-4:30 pm). Facebook Messenger or call 304-876-5420.
  • Ask a Librarian - Chat Service is available M-F 10am to 12pm.
  • Text a Librarian - 681-201-4TXT
  • The 24-hour room will remain available to those with swipe access.
  • Archive Survey: Please fill out the COVID-19 Archive Survey. Learn more by clicking the Archive Survey tab.
  • Free Resources for a limited time from Publishers.  Click the Free Resources tab to see what is available . 
  • Patrons may return library materials in the outside book drop. Any fines/fees will be waived once the materials are returned in good condition.
  • Pick Up Service The library has instituted a new process to allow faculty, staff, students, and community borrowers to check out books, DVDs, CDs, and audiobooks during the COVID-19 pandemic. Patrons will request materials through the online catalog and pick up materials by appointment. To learn more, click on the NEW - Pick Up Service tab.
  • Meeting Rooms - All our Meeting Rooms are closed and we are currently not accepting bookings
  • Social Media - Our social media pages remain active. All updates will be posted on social media and on this page
