The Association of American Educators (AAE) is the largest national, non-union, professional educators' organization, advancing the profession by offering a modern approach to teacher representation and educational advocacy, as well as promoting professionalism, collaboration and excellence without a partisan agenda.

Who Should Use This Guide

This Library Guide is intended to support the coursework and research needs of students enrolled in education programs and to support the research and instructional needs of faculty who work with them. The Scarborough Library supports the Education programs at Shepherd University by providing essential resources to begin your research in Education. 

Need Reference or Instruction Help?

The Scarborough Library provides assistance in many ways:

  • In-person at the Research desk in the library
  • By phone at the Research desk in the library (304-876-5420)
  • By online chat (available M-F 9am-8pm) (Off Hours - we'll respond at 9am the next day)

The Scarborough Library also has subject librarians available who specialize in the literature and information in specific areas.

The subject librarians:

  • Act as liaisons to academic departments,
  • Provide library instruction for SU classes,
  • Recommend and assist with library resources for research,
  • Purchase material needed for classes.
